Spring has been a landmark of sorts for me since the cold weather set in, so on my daily walks I've been keeping an eye out for new sprouts and blooms. New life is on the way! The photos below were taken on my walk through Herbert Park this afternoon.

Rules for my Unborn Son
Hubs received this book from his brother when we were home for Christmas and I have to say it is a real keeper! I agree with nearly all of the little tidbits which encourage your boy to be a gentleman. As I sit here writing this blog, with my baby boy hiccuping in my belly and squirming all about I am dreaming of the man he will someday become...
Here are a few of the pearls of wisdom I liked best:
- Write letters. On paper.
- Never request a joke or impression. They are never as good on command.
- Always stop at a lemonade stand. Tip well.
- Don't be afraid to ask out the best looking girl in the room.
and the best one...
- Spend time with your mother. She's cooler than you think.

Our Valentine's Day
We like to keep things pretty simple on Valentine's Day - no buying of elaborate gifts or fancy dinners for us. We do, however, like to acknowledge the day some way and while this year was simple, it was one of the best. There's nothing I love more than spending time with my best friend, my husband.
I had forgotten that Saint Valentine's relics were in a church in Dublin's city centre and was reminded by a friend last week. Hubs and I thought Valentine's day would be a good day to go see the relics, as it's the only day out of the year they put them out on display. The relics were gifted to the Whitefriar Street Church in 1835 by Pope Gregory XVI.

After seeing the relics, we stopped at a nearby coffee shop called The Bald Barista, which has, in my opinion, the best latte in Dublin. It's also the most reasonably priced!
My white mocha.... YUM! Not too sweet, piping hot, with good foam and a pretty design. What more can you ask for?
We headed home after ward for oven pizza and a movie double header of Dorain Gray (fantiastic!) and Pan's Labyrinth (4 stars).
All in all, just another day that I fell even more in love with my darling husband.

Smarty Pants
I'm so proud of my darling Hubs.
Last night he gave a talk for the Military History Society and knocked my socks off.
I think he looked so cute in his academic ensemble
Risteard Mulcahy, son of General Richard Mulcahy, Commander in Chief of the Irish Free State Army was even there.

I'm digging the bow tie, Risteard
Apart from him the audience comprised of about 50 older gentlemen in tweed jackets (some of them even donned a complete tweed suit - impressive!) And of course, I was there for moral support.
And today, he went into Dundrum to give a talk for a local radio station. The half hour program will air this Wednesday on 93.9 South Dublin Radio at 3pm GMT.
Gooooo, Hubs!
